someone give me an AU
where one of Korra’s water bending partners/teachers were Noatok and Tarrlok
and their backstory teaches her about pride, humility, greed, and above all, the abuse of bending
Oh gawd! What am I doing!? DX
Okay…. Feel free to edit everything! I can’t spell. Also to clear some things up. Korra switches Bending Masters with each season to keep up her skills. Spring = Air, Winter = Water, Summer = Fire, and Fall = Earth. I just thought it be interesting. I got excited by the idea and looking back this feels rushed but I had a little fun writing this.
oh my god this is all fucking perfect
wow. I’m so glad you wrote this. Like, seriously. They’re all so wonderfully IC.

Mostly a team drabble with a little Bosami. [This is set a few years after canon, btw, ‘cause I can do that.]

Now that the complainers are less outnumbered than we used to be, I thought I’d make my own post about how Korra is just turning out to be a disappointing show. Episode 9 aired most recently. Let me just list the first 9 episodes of Avatar: the Last Airbender for comparison:
The Boy in the Iceberg. The Avatar Returns. The Southern Air Temple. The Warriors of Kyoshi. The King of Omashu. Imprisoned. Winter Solstice (Part 1: The Spirit World, & Part 2: Avatar Roku). The Waterbending Scroll.
Think back to those episodes. Every last one of them was worth watching in its own right. They were full of diverse, engaging plots that gave the main story room to grow while (and this is important) always reinforcing the heroes’ central goal, which was clear and consistent from the beginning. They also introduced colorful but believable characters who actually mattered - both for their own sake, and for showing us new sides of the main protagonists.
The Legend of Korra does none of those things. Objectives are scattered and confusingly brief, and no one seems able to have relationships with more than 2 people at a time.
Even though I’ve been discussing the show critically for the last few days, uhm
I still did a double take at some of this.

Notice where Sokka is sitting.
Council in present day:
And what is right underneath where he used to sit?
((Boomerang, you really do come back!))
it must have been placed there when he died, as a memorial

but before that I will request something
There’s some speculation that one or both of Korra’s parents are a waterbender
Well dammit, now I want to see her dad doing some healing.
Because I don’t like the idea that only ladies can heal. That’s fucking ridiculous. He should do it, too
if Korra had more hormones…
actually who am I kidding male!Korra would be even more oblivious to the opposite sex haha
oh my god Bolin I just want to wrap you up and steal you away
