Well, I’ve never run into any besides Hitchups since I joined up. Guess the sites I’ve been hanging out at have been pretty tame.

It’s been really hard for me to find decent art that don’t depict the lady leads as sex objects and Hiccup as some masculine Adonis. And then there’s the Astrid-bashing. Y’probably missed the Anti-Hicstrid blog, but there’s that. And it’s all over the fanfiction. It’s really hard to find a good fic that doesn’t have strong sexist overtones or just outright fucks up the gender dynamics of Berk, ie, the same shit is expected of girls as it is boys.
Those issues with fanfiction are the main reason I’ve tried to stay away from sites like ff.net since the whole Dragon craze started. The HTTYD LiveJournal groups on the other hand have had quite a few great stories and authors. I have unfortunately run into a lot of Astrid-bashing. Mainly since I joined Tumblr but there’s quite a bit going around deviantART too.

yeah, no, the stuff at DA kept me from ever getting into the fandom, there. I should really check out the LJ fics—do you have any recs?
