It’s not THAT horrid. Some people actually think it’s cute.

Sexism and misogyny are never cute. 

Hiccup gets taken through an absolutely awesome character arc, where as Astrid has her mother and everyone interested in her killed, blames herself, and out of nowhere wants a baby.

Yeah, no. The fic isn’t cute; it’s a painful example of pervasive sexism and misogyny in media and how it bleeds over into the next generation of artists if left unchecked. 

Yes, I know but I tried not to pay attention to any of that. The only reason I read it in the first place was for Hiccup and Toothless and their relationship.

If you can, that’s great, but that kinda shit shouldn’t be shoved under the rug. There’s enough sexism in this fandom to begin with.
